A Villa or Resort for Your Next Family Holiday
November 9, 2016
Planning holidays can be quite fun and if you are trying to decide between a villa and resort, there are a few things to consider before you book your trip.
Resorts have plenty of activities for you and your family to enjoy, especially if you opt for an all-inclusive package. This type of holiday includes your accommodation, meals, beverages and some activities.
Sometimes you can find great deals that will even include your airfare. Resorts all over the world are now opting for all-inclusive packages because they are more affordable for families.
There is nothing worse than blowing your budget because of unplanned expenses. Having to pay for your accommodation on top of dining out and activities can put a huge dent in your wallet. Some resorts have luxury rooms where you and the family can relax after a long day.
Imagine going snorkeling or windsurfing without having to worry about the cost. Most all-inclusive packages include non-motorized water sports for everyone in the family. Larger resorts have several restaurants on-site where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Villa accommodation is becoming more popular and is a great way to spend your family holidays. One of the advantages of renting villas is space. You can book a week at a three or four bedroom villa that has a fully-equipped kitchen and a large living area. There is no need to pack linens as everything is included. It is literally a home away from home.
Hotels are not as private as self-catering villas as you have to make your way through the lobby to get to your room. If the kids have had a long day there is nothing better than being able to unlock the door to your private home. Hotels charge per guest which can be quite expensive, especially if you have a large family.
Kids under twelve can usually stay for free, but if you have teenagers they will be charged the full room rate. Friends and family will not be charged additional rates if they decide to spend a couple of days with you on your holidays. Rent a large six bedroom luxury villa and split the cost. You can all pitch in on food and drinks making your holiday very affordable.
Another great advantage of villa accommodation is privacy. You can come and go as you please without having to worry about disturbing your neighbors. Hotels can be noisy, but your own private villa is quiet and serene. Most of the larger resorts have several villas for you to choose from.Stay on the beach, or opt for something closer to the city.
If you feel like relaxing in the privacy of your home find a resort that has a swimming pool and offers scheduled activities for your children. Family holidays are great, but sometimes it is nice to spend some quiet time with your partner. Having a tour director take over the parenting duties for an afternoon will allow you and your better half to indulge in some adult activities. Resorts and villas offer something for everyone and if you are planning your family holidays make a list.
Write down the pro’s and con’s of both and discuss what it is that you want to accomplish on your trip. You want to make sure that everyone in the family has a great time. There is nothing worse than spending your hard earned pay check on a less than perfect holiday.
Talk it over with your family and ask them how they would like to spend their holidays. Your goal is to make memories that all of you will remember for the rest of your lives.
